One of the six National Seva events planned for 2016 is a Winter Care Package Drive. Winter is a challenging time of year as the cold weather can be very difficult for individuals who are homeless, vulnerable and/or unable to afford warm clothing. As a result, devotees all across Canada will be creating packages of winter items to donate to a variety of shelters, distribution centres and homeless individuals. Cooksville Sai Centre has been chosen to assist the Peel Family Shelter's needs for winter items. The Peel shelter is home to families in a housing crisis and accommodates 236 individuals.
The shelter is looking for 50 hats, scarves, gloves/mitts and childrens' PJs. Wholesale centres may be a good way to source these items at a good price. Feel free to approach some of the other members to get these items. In previous drives, other centres have bought materials from Lucky's Import and Wholesale. 1607 the Queensway Avenue Let us all come together to help the needy. We have set November 15th as the deadline to meet the target. It is our way of thanking our beloved Lord for all that He has given us!!
